2. Harriet Berry

1828 Census for NSW had Harriet aged 4 years, born in the colony, as a lodger with Mr George Lane of Phillip Street, Sydney.
A letter to the Honourable Colonial Secretary dated 5 May 1830 states:
Harriet aged 5 years, the child of Francis Berry, a convict assigned to a baker in newcastle, has been deserted by her mother who lives a most vicious life. I am therefore insistent to commend her to His Excellency the governor as an orphan object for admission into the Female Orphan School she being of a crown convict.

Valentine Bullen

Valentine was transported for 7 years as a convict on 9 Mar 1823. He was sentenced on 21 Dec 1822 at Norfolk, Borough of kings Lynn, Quarter Sessions and Goal Delivery.

Valentine was given his Certificate of Freedom, No. 29/113 on 23 Feb 1829. He was at this stage a Bricklayer.
